Mark lives with his family, partner Imogen and children Jake 13 and Grace 8, in Worcester. Originally from Yorkshire he was brought up, walking the hills of the Pennines with the family dogs and continues to enjoy the outdoor life today with his own Golden Retriever, Orlando.
Mark graduated from Manchester University with a degree in French and German and has had a career in education for 20 years working in different schools across Worcestershire, mostly teaching MFL but also PE and latterly in Senior Leadership. A huge advocate for Outdoor Education, Mark has worked on a number of projects over the years that have allowed students of all ages to benefit from the great outdoors, ranging from descents of the Ardeche Gorge to having a hand in creating Woodfield House Outdoor Education Centre at Wolverley CE Secondary School and most recently introducing DofE at his current school Bishop Perowne CE College, where he is now Headteacher.
Although spectating more than participating these days, Mark maintains a keen interest in sport of all types, particularly football and rugby. Whenever possible he escapes the shores of the UK to holiday with family and friends.
He is a little daunted by the challenge ahead but is certain his 42 years of Yorkshire grit and determination will see him through.
